After 15 years of good great times it is time to say goodbye to my R1 as it is finally retired. The minister of finance and warfare has finally relented and I can get myself a new bike. This is my tribute video to this great bike with some fantastic memories from the last 15 years.
Nice tribute. I can't recall ever having owned a vehicle longer than maybe seven or eight years. Fifteen years is a long time running. Now what's next?
ReplyDeleteThanks Sonja, it's been a long time between drinks so they say, but the new bike has been secured and is ready for the unveiling.......
DeleteExciting times ahead tinged with some sadness no doubt. Time for a naked Chiller??
ReplyDeleteYes it has been both exiting and a bit sad in equal measures, the old R1 was such a great bike. What to replace it with. All will be revealed shortly.
DeleteThe suspense is killing me...
DeleteThe suspense is killing you, it's really killing me. I just wanted to blab it out at first I was so excited about a new bike.
DeleteThat was lovely! You and your bike went on many great travels! I hope your next bike does just as many journies and takes you on lots of adventures.
ReplyDeleteHi Dar
DeleteI've put about 67,000km on the old bike, its been to four different states and theres been great times. We will see what the new bike holds..... stay tuned.
I'm sure you'll love the H2...
ReplyDeleteCould be, could be, I put a bit of thought into it.......you'll find out very soon.....
DeleteVery nice tribute. I am the tortoise to your viciously fast hare. There is no possible future scenario in which I will achieve that skill level or speed. Breathtaking!
ReplyDeleteThanks David. Tortoise or Hare, I've done both and on the same bike. The R1 was ggod like that you could cruise around on it slowly or it could wick it up on the track. Not everyone should go fast, unless they are up for the challenge and upgrade their skill levels by track time. Sometimes it is nice just to cruise around. Oh did I just say that? Must be getting old(er)
Deletegreat tribute video to the R1
ReplyDeleteany clues to the new one yet or how long is the wait for us to find out
All will be revealed within the next 24 hrs
DeleteA great tribute video and perfect song to go with it.
ReplyDeleteLet's see, did you go for the new R1 or something a little more 'adventurous'......hmmmm.
Not long to wait now Brandy, I was trying to build a little suspense here.
DeleteGreat stuff Steve. Ah, the excitement of riding a new motorcycle home! Congratulations on the ...........?
ReplyDeleteCheers mate, all will be visible soon, I can't stand the suspense now either.
