Photo Fail - A blog challenge?

On my last trip away to the snowy mountains I had a little difficulty with pressing the buttons on my Go pro camera. I was trying to set it up to take video but it had somehow switched over to photo burst and when I had pressed the button I got a heap of photos of myself looking puzzled at my inept camera operating skills. I'm sometimes a little technologically challenged. This wasn't a one off I managed to do it 2 or 3 times.

Which makes me wonder have any of you got any photo failures whilst you were out taking photos or videos for your blog. A blog challenge perhaps???

You can even see the point where I realise that I don't know what I'm doing. Ha ha classic.

  2. Oh dear. Welcome to the club. :) When I catch mine though, I am usually either sticking my tongue out for my own ineptness or flipping the camera the bird. I'm not sure if I can get any posted up for perusal unfortunately. Time is tight right now. I will try though. To help the humor and take away the sting. :)

  3. I didn't know one could look confused while wearing a helmet. :-)

Luckily for you I don't use Troubadour's GoPro or I'd have a whole slew of these. I am not always technologically inclined with these new fangled gadgets.

You'd be surprised how long it takes me to use the self-timer on the camera. I'll see if I have any out takes from that, but I don't think it was used last year.

I too am like you but it's the GoPro's fault. The newer ones have status lights.

If you happen to have a newer one, then you are inept.

  5. Steve, I nuke all my fails so they are not around to haunt me!

I am curious though, where and how are you mounting the GoPro on the R1? For example, I really like that footage of the Omeo road where the camera seems to be on the side of the bike.

    Cheers Jules.

    1. Hi Jules, the camera is mounted just above the right hand indicator on one of those small stick on mounts, I haven't trusted the suction cap mount enough to use it.

  6. As you can tell from the comments, you are not alone! I have often pressed the wrong buttons, thought I was recording, completing the ride I wanted to video only to find the camera was never on. Great camera, poor design for the indicators!
