I have only been blogging for a little over 1 year now and in that time I have been searching for other blogs similar to mine from other sports bike riders. Searching for motorcycle blogs is hard enough, finding a sportsbike blog is near impossible. I mean what the hell is wrong with google when it can't find other sportsbike blogs What gives blogger is owned by google? Searching blogs seems to be very poor in the search engine arena.
I have found many supposedly sportsbike blogs that the blog just consists of road racing news and new bike releases. Nothing to actually do with riding a sportsbike in the real world on public roads. If I wanted to read that I would just go buy Australian Motorcycle news or something similar.
I am sure that I can't be the only sportbike blog on the internet, I have found a few blogs from a bunch of great guys on sports tourers such as Motorcycle Paradise, All things Rogey and Tarsnakes of which all are great blogs that I follow regulary. There are numerous blogs from Harley riders and people on cruisers and even scooters, so many in fact that I could not list them here. There are that many but it still remains that I have only been able to find 1 other sportsbike blog, and its by a girl that rides a BMW S1000RR and a former Haybusa rider. Her blog here if you like sportsbikes. Thanks Trobairitz :-) I found this on your side bar of blogs.
It seems funny to me that a sportsbike blog should be easily found but not so. You might ask why I myself have only been blogging for over a year now and haven't taken it up long ago. Well I guess the answer to that is I never knew that there was such a thing as blogs, until my brother showed me his blog about a year before I started mine, you can see his here at A view from above. It was from there I got the idea of making my own sportsbike blog. Who would of thought that the internet had more to offer than free music, movies and porn. Maybe sportsbike riders are in the class of 'Meh I don't care' frame of mind and couldn't give a shit. Sadly that looks to be more true than I'd like to think. I hope I am wrong about that. I'll just have to keep on searching..............

Where does your bike live?
Flyboy at A view from above has sent out a challenge to all us bikers to show where their bikes live when we are not riding them. Post your link up on his site when you have posted yours. So here's a few pics of where my bike lives in my man cave.
It's a bit on the messy side and the bike usually is under a cover so it doesn't get dusty.
Let me point out a few of the features of my man cave. Out the back door of the garage we step out onto the deck which surrounds our small but enjoyable pool. Just have to be careful I don't roar into the garage to fast otherwise it could all end up at the bottom of the pool. On the left we have a futon lounge which folds down into a bed if needed.(Which it hasn't yet thank goodness.)
On the left just past the R1 you can make out the Beer keg's next to the fridge and freezer. On the front of the fridge you'll notice the tap for the beer. Its pretty sweet having your own beer on tap at home. Just past the freezer but hidden from view is my trusty BBQ which gets used 2-3 times a week. Up on top of the fridge is a small 34cm TV so I can watch when I'm cooking on the BBQ whilst having a beer. In fact now that I think about it I could live out here, it's got everything I need except a shower and toilet. I'm sure that when the wife reads that I'll be in the shit!
Georgia wanted to sit on the bike so I lifted her up and onto the seat. Once she was up there she wanted to get off again, something about being scared. She could almost reach the foot pegs but was a long way from reaching the bars.

New Brake Lines
I finally shouted some new brake lines for my aging YZF-R1. The old lines are well past there best and I needed to replace them and also the brake fluid since it hasn't been done for a long while. So I thought I'd combine the two at once.
I first removed the screen and mirror for easy of access to the master cylinder, reservoir and lines.
Then I drained out all the fluid in the lines, cleaned the ends of the lines so I wouldn't get fluid everywhere then removed the old lines. Then it was time to fit a new set of goodridge lines to the bike, test them for fit by turning the bars in both directions to make sure there are no snags etc
Bleeding the new lines seemed to take forever to do and was frustrating me no end. Bleeding brake lines takes a lot of patience and I don't have any really so after 5 minutes of nothing happening I was beginning to get a bit peeved, and after 20 minutes of nothing happening I was really F@cking peeved. Finally after about 35-40minutes of piss farting around those damn lines now came out with clear fluid and no bubbles and lots of feel at the front bar. Happily, it only took less than 5 minutes to bleed new fluid through the back brakes. The colour of the old fluid to the new is a world apart as the brake fluid is hygroscopic and absorbs moisture over time and eventually goes a really dark brown colour. The new fluid was a clear light yellow.
Now if it will only stop raining so I can get out there and try them out. So much for summer, I've never seen so much rain before????? It's driving me nuts.
