The clean up

This is the shit!!
Brasso is the best shit ever invented for cleaning metal surfaces. I have used this for years on my bike. After exposing the dirt fest that was the internals of the rear of my bike in yesterdays blog, a 10 minute session with the pressure cleaner and some brasso and good old elbow grease brought the rear section back to new stone chipped not so new.

Even with the pressure cleaner after 10 minutes nothing looked different. After rubbing in the brasso within a minute all was clean and shiny again. Thank you Brasso and you can send the cheque in the mail.

Now its time to get some riding in.

    1. I believe Walmart in the US sells it, but it is in a plastic bottle. It's really good shit for cleaning metal surfaces. Probably because its got ammonia in it.

  4. Thanks for the tip on Brasso.

I use Autosol metal polish on my slip on mufflers. It comes in a tube like a tube of toothpaste. They also sell specialized SS polish and aluminum polish. However, I've only ever used the general 'metal' polish.

Do you think that the Brasso would be OK to use on exhaust pipe headers when they get grimy & discolored?

    1. Hi mate
The brasso seems to work pretty good on my pipe which is 14 years old, it has gone an off colour yellowish where it gets really hot, but at the rear of the pipe its still original colour. Normally the chain oil bakes onto the pipe and you cant get it off, but brasso gets it off in about 30 seconds its that good. I have not tried autosol so cant compare the two.
