There hasn't been any riding to speak of around here for a while, as its been raining the last couple of weekends and when it has been good weather we've had other things on like a wedding, birthday party etc that's kept me from getting out. Today was pretty poor weather wise, but Sydney's motorcycle expo was on so I headed in to check it out for a couple of hours.
There were lots of awesome bikes there to look at. Charlie Boorman was doing some sit down interviews through out the day as well. Here's a few photos of the event.
Now that looks like a fun day. If the weather is too crappy to ride, might as well look at bikes.
ReplyDeleteWould be cool to meet Charley. I enjoyed his trips with Ewan but also the documentary of when he attempted the Dakar.
Been raining here too. Haven't been on the bike in a few weeks.
I saw a Gladius at the expo and I immediately thought of you. Your blue one looked better than the red model they had on display. I haven't seen his dakar video, maybe i'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteI've got the Race To Dakar on disc if you want to borrow it. That video is where he earned his riding cred. He really showed some guts.
DeleteGreat you can bring it down next time your here, we'll catch up for a beer and I'll get the dvd.
DeleteHe said that they start out with about 250 riders and only 60 something finished its that tough.
Those are some sweet bikes. I like the Ducati?
ReplyDeleteWhat is the model of the white and red Kawasaki?
Hi Dave. The kwaka is the Z1000 ABD model, which I quite like obviously. They had a lot of fantastic bikes on display, sadly I don't have enough money.
DeleteThat Panigale is a pretty awesome looking bike to behold in the flesh so to speak. I'd love to have one but couldn't see myself having the funds......
Hey Steve, thanks for posting those pics - especially the record breaking ZX14R. I look forward to seeing that big Kwaka at the Melbourne Expo at the end of the month. Did they have reproductions of that poster for sale?
ReplyDeleteCheers Jules
Hi Jules. Thats one seriously fast 14 at 335kph. Imagine putting turbos or nitrous on those things....wow. I didn't notice a poster anywhere but you might want to ask when the expo rolls into Melbourne.
