What's this then?

A parcel arrived at my front door today. I thought what the heck could this be I haven't ordered anything lately.

As it turned out flyboy has given me an early birthday present. Thanks mate. Looks like you want me to do all the planning.

Great suggestion Geoff, now I'm gonna have my reading and planning cut out for me.

  2. He didn't give you a gift - he gave you an obligation - a good one though.

    1. Yeah after looking through the book I can see I'm gonna spend hours over this one.

  3. I happen to have a couple of copies of that book. There are some good rides in there and it should help with your planning. The times the author gives the rides allow for plenty of photo/coffee stops etc. On occasion I've combined 3 or more of the rides in one ride...

Once again, let me know if you want any info...

    1. Why do you more than 1 copy Andrew? It looks like a good book from the quick flick through I've had so far. Once i've worked out a route plan I might send it over to you for any suggestions and get some feedback.

  4. Well there you go...before you know it you will be winginging you way over here and spending your hard earnered Aussie peso here in NZ. Great book, and great for ideas, NZ is an easy place to tour and easy to change planes if you decide to ride more, or less....I have seen lots of the scenery, so I tend to just enjoy riding...riding..and riding when I tour.

it is a great place for a bike tour. Look forward to meeting you and cooking you a nice roast lamb, a cold beer, and constant replays of the "Underarm" incident! Any thing you need , just ask, Like Andrew I am happy to help......I am sure we could even twist that retired pensioner from Coro to pop a long as well....

  5. Great stuff Steve. You won't regret it. Just hope that you can get the weather right on the South Island as it can be damn cold, even in what they pass off as summer! We had 3C one "summer's" morning on our trip.

    Cheers Jules.
